Prof. Alok Kumar Chakrawal
Vice Chancellor
Message from the Vice Chancellor
It gives me profound satisfaction and a sense of responsibility towards our commitment to create an encouraging environment for students, ensuring equal opportunities for learning irrespective of their socio-economic status. Every student shall have the opportunity to realize their full potential; no hindrance should impede their educational journey. Considering this, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya has instituted more than 20 social connect schemes initiatives, such as GGV Rakt Sambandh Sanskar Yojana, GGV Sarthi, GGV Swavlambi Haat, GGV Shravan Line, GGV Shikska Mitra Yojana, GGV Swalambi Chhattisgarh, GGV Swabhiman Thali and many more for the benefit of students. In this regard, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya has initiated the GGV Sudama Yojana, which provides financial assistance, thereby facilitating all the students' equitable access to quality education and fostering a conducive atmosphere for the holistic well-being of the students. The GGV Sudama Scheme aims to provide financial assistance to economically underprivileged students, thus guaranteeing their educational activities continue unhindered and so facilitating their role in nation-building through education and a bright future.
This scheme not only helping to create a student-friendly environment but also fostering a sense of social responsibility and solidarity among teachers, administration, alumni, and students by promoting collaborative endeavours that contribute to an equitable society.
An absolute support and collaboration from all stakeholders will help to improve the quality and standard of higher education at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya. I am confident that our sincere efforts together for the advancement of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya would undoubtedly lead to a fresh milestone in the sphere of higher education.
I extend my best wishes to everyone dedicated towards creating and sustaining all possible solutions for the well-being and holistic progress of students.

It is with great joy and pride to mention that the Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, a Central University named in honour of the revered saint and social reformer, Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji. His timeless values of truth, equality, and compassion continue to shape our institution's spirit and mission.
At GGV, we believe that education is not just about earning a degree but about nurturing the mind and spirit. Our university is a space for intellectual growth, cultural exchange, and personal transformation. Whether you are pursuing studies in science, technology, arts, humanities, or professional fields, you will find a dynamic environment that values both academic rigor and creative expression. Through innovative teaching, meaningful research, and real-world application, we aim to equip students with the skills and values needed to make a lasting impact.
In recent years, the University has started many schemes and Yajnas related to Social Connects, which not only provide our students platforms to develop their value-based learning and leadership qualities, but also offer paths to achieve the mission and vision of the National Education Policy 2020.
GGV Sudama Yojna is one of them, which provides financial assistance to economically challenged students without any prejudice of caste, creed, religion, or region — thus guaranteeing their dream to complete higher education in the University. It also fosters a holistic environment on the University campus.

Dean Students' WelfareMessage from Dean Students’ Welfare
It is with great admiration and respect that I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Alok Kumar Chakrawal, for his commitment and tireless efforts in nurturing an environment of holistic development and welfare for the students at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya. His democratic leadership and empathetic approach have not only enhanced the academic standards of the university but have also re-energised the campus. His innovative initiatives, and dedication to the employees’ and students’ well-being, emphasis on mental health and happiness, have left an indelible mark on the lives of many.
Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya Sudama Yojana (GGV-Sudama Yojana) is one of the flagship initiatives of the University, which is probably one of its kind of innovative concepts started in the GGV under your visionary leadership. From this Yojana, those students who are financially weak or whose parents are unable to afford the university fees, hostel fees, teaching aides, etc., to continue their studies, shall be given financial assistance. This Yojana has been effective since 2024–25, and the university has so far provided financial assistance to more than sixty needy students, which not only extends financial support to the aspiring students but also motivates them to complete their academic degree without much hindrance.
As the Dean of Students' Welfare, I feel privileged to be a part of GGV Sudama Yojana, whose concept goes beyond conventional boundaries and creates opportunities that empower our students to achieve their aspirations.
I extend my best wishes to all our students.
