Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya has two guest houses for the accommodation of guests:

Jawahar Sadan Guest House: This guest house has 8 VIP AC suites and 8 AC rooms, providing a comfortable stay for the guests.

International Guest House: This guest house consists of 43 rooms, which include:

  • 5 VIP Suites – each suite includes 1 bedroom, 1 living room, and 1 pantry
  • 10 Semi Suites with AC
  • 28 Normal AC rooms

The Guest Houses are administered by a Director and a Joint-Director appointed by the Vice-Chancellor.

The Guest Houses are primarily meant for the accommodation of the Official Guests of the University. However, they may also be used by Non-Official Guests associated with permanent employees of the University, subject to availability.

Category of Guests:

Official Guests: These are divided into two categories:

  • Priority I Guests: Members of the University Court, University Executive Council, University Academic Council, Finance Committee, Building Committee, Selection Committees, School Board, Department Board of Studies, Examiners, and External Experts invited to conduct PhD, MPhil, and PG viva voce. All these guests are entitled to rooms at official rates.
  • Priority II Guests: Officials invited for campus placements and MoU meetings; participants in seminars, workshops, symposia, conferences, and training programmes conducted by the University, Schools, Departments, Centres, and Cells. All these guests are also entitled to rooms at official rates.

Non-Official Guests (Priority III): These include guests of university employees (referred by a permanent employee), registered alumni (referred by the Alumni Coordinator), and parents of students (referred by the Head of the Department). All these guests are entitled to rooms at staff/guest rates.

Conference Booking Charges (Per Day)

  • Official: ₹2000
  • Non-Official: ₹3000

Catering Charges (Per Day)

  • With catering: ₹3000*
  • Without catering: ₹3000**

Cancellation Policy

  • Booking can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the scheduled check-in time.
  • If cancelled after confirmation, Non-Official guests will forfeit the booking amount.
  • If cancellation is not informed at least 24 hours in advance, the room tariff until the date of cancellation will be charged.
  • The University reserves the right to cancel or refuse accommodation without assigning any reason.

Facilities Provided in Guest House

  • 1 Conference Hall (50-person capacity), 1 Party Room (200-person capacity), and 1 Open Terrace (200-person capacity) at the International Guest House.
  • All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with hot water, cot, table, chair, wardrobe, television, electric kettle, and coffee/tea provisions.
  • Wi-Fi facility is available at both guest houses.

Check-In and Check-Out

Note: Aadhar card or passport will be needed as address proof before guest house booking.

  • Guests may check in or out at any time.
  • A day is counted from 10:00 AM to 10:00 AM the next day.
  • Any fraction of a day is counted as a full day.
  • Guests must sign the register with ID proof upon arrival and departure.
  • By signing the register, guests acknowledge and accept the rules and guidelines.
  • Indian nationals must present an Aadhar Card or official ID.
  • Foreign nationals must present a passport with a valid visa; details will be sent to Koni Police Station, Bilaspur - 495009.

Confirmation of Booking

  • Booking can be made in advance but confirmation will be given only 7 days before the event based on guest category priority.
  • Non-Official guest bookings will be confirmed only upon advance payment of 50% of the rent.
  • Digital payments are encouraged.
  • Confirmation of booking will be communicated to the requisitioner.

Requisition Process

  • All booking applications must be submitted in the official proforma.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • Applications should be sent to the Director of the Guest House.
  • A maximum of 10 rooms or 20 beds can be booked at a time for up to 7 days.
  • Only regular employees of the University can make bookings and are responsible for payment and guest conduct.

Duration of Stay

  • The normal maximum duration of stay is one week.
  • Stay may be extended up to 10 days with prior approval of the Vice-Chancellor.
  • No extension beyond 10 days will be allowed.
  • Unauthorized stay beyond the approved duration will be charged at double the normal tariff.
