Introduction

Among the 22 welfare schemes at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV), TARANG stands out as the official student-managed music band, blending Indian classical, folk, devotional, and contemporary music. Since 2012, it has become a transformative space promoting cultural expression, leadership, and holistic growth.

“A stage for some, a sanctuary for others—TARANG is where students find their beats, strings, and voice, woven together in harmony.”

Objectives
  • Promote experiential and peer-led learning through music.
  • Enable holistic development via cultural, emotional, and cognitive expression.
  • Preserve Indian musical heritage while embracing modern genres.
  • Facilitate career and skill-based education in performing arts.
Services Offered
  • Vocal and instrumental training through collaborative rehearsals.
  • Original music composition and production (9+ songs).
  • Performances at institutional, regional, and national levels.
  • Cultural ambassadorship in events like AIU Youth Festival and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
  • Community service via music-centric outreach programs.
Volunteer Engagement

Student-led leadership teams coordinate auditions, peer mentoring, logistics, media, and production. Fresh talent is inducted annually, and cross-genre collaborations foster teamwork.
