About GGV Shravan Line (GSL)

GGV Shravan Line (GSL)

A Helpline Scheme to Serve the Society

Introduction

Among the 22 welfare initiatives running successfully at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV), the Shravan Line scheme stands out as a socially impactful, student-driven community engagement program. It complements the university’s inclusive ecosystem of 10,000+ students, 500+ teaching faculty, 500 non-teaching staff, and 33 departments with multiple boys’ and girls’ hostels.

The idea emerged in 2022, when students helped an elderly man struggling with pension paperwork near the campus gate. Inspired by this incident, the concept evolved into a structured helpline for elderly citizens, and GGV Shravan Line was officially launched in 2023. Volunteers now deliver empathetic, legal, financial, health, and technical support to elderly people across Bilaspur.
