Nurturing Children, Supporting Careers
Introduction
Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV), committed to holistic development and inclusive campus life, launched the Kilkaari Day Care Centre on 4 May 2022 to address the needs of working parents within its academic community. The centre provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 3–12 years, with a current intake capacity of 30.
Located in the Department of Education (Room No. 27 & 28), the Centre is managed by a dedicated team and overseen by institutional and community representatives, ensuring accountability and high-quality childcare.

Objectives
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children of university staff and students.
- Support working parents in balancing academic and professional duties.
- Promote early stimulation and preschool education for children aged 3–6 years.
- Foster social, emotional, and physical development of children.
- Encourage community participation in childcare and development.
Services Offered
- Early childhood education and stimulation.
- Sanitation and safe drinking water facilities.
- Growth monitoring, health check-ups, first aid, and immunizations.
- Provision of local nutritional supplements.
- Indoor & outdoor play materials and structured activities.
- Regular celebrations and enrichment programs (Diwali, Science Week, Children’s Day, etc.).
Volunteer Engagement

- Advisory Committee: Includes UNICEF, Rotary Club, local doctors, and GGV faculty.
- Monitoring Committee: Comprising ICDS representatives, parents, HR, and crèche staff.

- Kids Summer Camp (Apr–May 2025) – 28 participants.
- Children’s Day Celebration (Nov 2024) – 40 children, 30 parents.
- Diwali Celebration (Oct 2025) – Rangoli, card making, diya decoration (38 participants).
- Science Space Week (Oct 2025) – Visit to science exhibition.
- Teachers’ Day Celebration (Sept 2025) – Participation by all registered children.
- Monthly Birthday Celebrations – 5 birthdays celebrated.
