About Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)

Transforming Rural India Through Education and Engagement

Introduction

The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV) is a flagship outreach initiative launched in 2021 as part of a nationwide effort to link higher education institutions with rural development. GGV has adopted four Gram Panchayats covering nine villages in the Kota Block of Bilaspur, predominantly inhabited by tribal communities.

The scheme gained momentum after students visiting one of the adopted villages discovered a young boy walking five kilometers to attend a non-functional school. Moved by this, the UBA team restored the school and mobilized the village youth, demonstrating the power of education and empathy to drive structural change.
