About us

Established in 1998, the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has consistently been a leader in offering high-quality education and training in the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering. The department offers a well-structured B.Tech. program with an intake of 112 students in Electronics & Communication Engineering and 75 in Electrical Engineering, aligning with industry demands and the growing need for skilled engineers. The department’s strong focus on innovation and practical learning ensures that students are well-prepared for both industry and research careers.

The curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation in both fundamental and advanced topics in areas such as Low Power VLSI Devices, Photonics & Optoelectronics, Wireless Communication, 5G, 6G and beyond 6G, Image Processing, Solar Cells, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, RF & Microwave, Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT, Biomedical Signal Processing, Power System, Control System, Power Electronics, Renewable energy and Electric vehicles. With a balanced approach between theoretical knowledge and practical experience, students are equipped with the skills needed to tackle real-world challenges in the rapidly evolving field of electronics and communication. The curriculum is regularly updated to keep pace with advancements in technology, ensuring that students are exposed to the latest trends and innovations.

Mission of the Department

The Mission of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is: 1. To be the epitome of academic rigour, flexible to accommodate every student and faculty for basic, current and future technologies in Electronics and Communication Engineering with professional ethics. 2. To develop an advanced research centre for local & global needs. 3. To mitigate the gap between academia, industry & societal needs through entrepreneurial and leadership promotion.

Achievements

Achievement of the Department

1. 13 students got qualified in GATE-2025.
2. 50% of eligible students from the 2020–2024 batch have been placed in various companies or have secured admission to higher studies after qualifying for the GATE examination.
3. 66% of eligible students from the current 2021–2025 batch have secured placements in various companies, and several students have received more than one job offer.
4. The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Studies in Engineering & Technology, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV), Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), has initiated and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the university level for various academic and research collaborations in the academic year 2024-2025 between GGV and the following international universities:

i).   INTI International University, Malaysia
ii).  Multimedia University, Malaysia
iii). Krirk University, Bangkok, Thailand
iv). Honam University, South Korea
v).  National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan
vi). University of Economics and Pedagogy, Uzbekistan

Achievement of faculties

1. Dr. Ruchi Tripathi received a project of Rs. 55.5 lakhs under TTDF Scheme in Academic year 2024-2025.

2. Dr. Manoj Gupta received

a. Outstanding Researcher Award" on International Higher Education Excellence Awards 2023 on January 26, 2024 at Metharath University, Pathum Thani, Thailand.

b. Excellence in Research Collaboration Award" on 'International Higher Education Excellence Awards 2024' on February 19, 2025 at Shinawatra University, Pathum Thani, Thailand

3. Dr. Sudakar Singh Chauhan Joined as an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Science, Technology and Society.

4. Dr. Nipun Kumar Mishra received a Best paper award at IEEE international conference INDISCON - 24 organized by IEEE India Council and IEEE Chandigarh Subsection hosted by Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh during 22-24th August 24.

5. Dr. Anil Kumar Soni received a best paper award n 12th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Sensor Networks organized by Applied Computer Technology, Kolkata, India, 2023.

Achievement of the Students

1. Mrs. Ruchi Devlal, M.Tech student, received the best paper award in IEEE international conference DICCT-2025.

2. Mr. Kumar Gulsan Raj B.Tech. 8^th Sem, received the best paper award in International Conference on Trends in energy and environmental research for sustainable development [TEERSD-II 2024].
