About Department

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication is one of the oldest departments of the university. It aims at providing trained manpower for print and electronic media and conducting innovative programs in mass Communication.

The Department invites eminent academician and professionals to interact with faculty and students. Fieldwork, Study tours and publication of annual magazine 'Prayas' and trimonthly newspaper 'Parisar-Warta' are some of the activities organized for the benefits of the students. Ever since its inception, the placement of the students with reputed media and other organisations has been remarkable and the alumni of the department are occupying positions in National print and electronic media.
