Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV), Bilaspur has established Media Cell since October, 2009, which works as a mirror of the University to the society. Their main objective is to liasioning in the University-society-media interface. One of its main function is to collect, select and send news and information to the media on behalf of the University. Apart from sending news and information it also do the reporting different events , programmes and activities inside the University catering the different departments. The present Media Cell comprises of a Professor In-charge, Public Relation Officer, Hindi Officer and other members nominated by the competent authority of the University from time to time. The Media Cell office is functioning at first floor of the Administrative Building facilitated with latest configuration desk top computer with internet facility, printer, scanner & laptop etc. and other modern facilities. The Media Cell also organised the Press Conferences from time to time for the comprehensive dissemination of programme like Convocation and International Conference. During the Financial Year 2017-18, the media cell executed Reporting, Photography & Videography programmes on the events i.e. 15 to 17 October, Sixth Convocation, International Conference (Bharat Rejuvenation), Independence Day, Vivekanand Jayanti Samaroh, Guru Ghasidas Jayanti Samaroh, Central University Establishment Day, Establishment Day Week programme, Republic Day, International Yoga Day, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan programme, Annual Cultural Programme, International and National Conference, Seminar & Workshop, etc. Apart from reporting, the Media Cell regularly everyday doing the collection of news from 10 National and State News Papers information pertaining to University. After cutting & pasting the concern portion submit it to the competent authority for information purpose. The Cell also provides photographs of the various programmes organised by University to Photos to be uploaded the same in the University Web Portal Photo Gallery. The Media Cell also keeps record of all function/programme photographs & Video in digital form organised by University. This facilitates to provide the information as and when required for various departments/section/ cell, annual report, newsletter, academic calendar, diary face book and web portal. It is one of the most sensitive and important department of University.
